Two pink lines

Let me tell you an amusing tale. One about my family, the Sprigg family. Once upon a time in a dusty, red soil town, there lived a Daddy Sprigg, a Mummy Sprigg and two Little Sprigg's. Daddy and Mummy Sprigg were pretty happy with their two little Sprigg's, life was simple and mummy Sprigg had no intention of ever pushing out another Sprigglet. She'd shut up shop and decided her baby making days were over. She eagerly piled up all her baby gear to be given away, cancelled her private maternity cover and was making arrangements for Daddy Sprigg to...

Teething problems

Teething problems

Someone stole my content, happy baby and replaced her with a whinging, clingy, 11 month old. I think I want my money back. Our youngest has some nasty, big teeth trying to break their way though tender gums and as a result, it’s been approximately 3 weeks since I last achieved something. The simple task of making lunch has become a dangerous job, as the puddles of drool scattered around the kitchen can mean you’re one slip away from wearing your spaghetti bolognese as a face mask. Not so glamorous...

Not so glamorous...

I’d love to know how some women can be both glamorous AND have kids. Every time I see a mother with her fingernails nicely painted, hair neat and looking composed, I wonder how the heck she does it. The other day I thought I’d try and put a bit of effort into my appearance so people stopped mistaking me for a homeless...

Spatial Awareness

Spatial Awareness

I type without thinking. I read a book without thinking. I write on a page, from left to rightwithout thinking. No, you’re right, I am thinking – though I can think about the content regarding each taskwith ease because my body has learnt to become spatially aware. Spatial awareness is theability to be aware of oneself in space. This is something we take for granted: the ability to know where we are in a particularspace, at a particular point in time. My fingers know where each key on the keyboard is(most of the time). My eyes know which direction they...

Chest hairs and children's movies

Chest hairs and children's movies

Have you ever tried to have a relaxing, family movie night in, with kids under the age of four? The other night we decided to try doing this. I'll be honest, Hubby and I watched mostly animated films before we had kids, now we just pretend we're doing it because we have kids. Now, don't worry, I know what you're thinking, screens before the age of two are terrible for a childs development. Yes, you're absolutely right. We don't usually let our one-year-old watch TV and fear not, she didn't look at the screen once in the hour and a...
